Another mini-scrapbook

Last May, my husband threw a 30th birthday party for me.  It was a perfect evening filled with family and friends. When the party was over, I was left with some adorable mementos as well as several birthday cards.  You might recall the mini engagement scrapbook I made awhile ago with all of our engagmenet cards and keepsakes.  I decided to do the same for this event.

I started by gathering everything together, printing out a few photos, and laying everything out.  I sifted through my giant box of die-cuts and found a 3 and a 0 that would work for the cover.  Also, since the party was a "Princess Pink" theme, I wanted to incorporate that into the book.  The cover shaped up pretty easily.  I just used a piece of manilla cardstock to make everything a bit sturdier, added some decorations, and a quote and that was that.

For the inside, I used a few more photos, a gift tag from one of my presents, and the picture Dan used for my cake of me and my other favorite guy, Bear.  When I was born, my parents had these little ticket announcements made up announcing my arrival.  Since Dan put together a "This is your life" slideshow for me, he created similar tickets to go along with the theme.  He really is the sweetest.  I also added a picture from our dinner the night of my actual birthday.

Now it was just time to hole punch the cards and add those in.  They would give the book the structure it needed and would also remind me down the road of who celebrated with me that night.

Once this was done, I just needed to bind everything together.  I took some ribbon from one of my gifts and used that to tie everything together.  I love reusing as many mementos as I can, and this ribbon was perfect.

All in all, this was a pretty simple project. These books are perfect if you mainly have cards and a few odds and ends you want to save.  Not to mention, it's getting harder and harder to find the time it takes to make a whole scrapbook.  That being said, my next goal is to do similar card books for our bridal shower and wedding.

Be well,
