Progress

Since we moved into our house about two months ago, it's ever so slowly coming together.  We decided to focus on the living room first, since that is where we spend most of our time.  The best part about being in a new space is, of course, decorating and finally sifting through all my thrift store finds!  I bought a window mirror at the Salvation Army a few months before we moved and was dying to get some white paint on it.  The original blue color actually matches our living room pretty well, but there's just something about a fresh coat of white paint that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.  The hubs has been in a bit of a painting frenzy, so he graciously accepted the task of painting the mirror.  I just love the way my $5.99 bargain came out!

Before
After
I finally caved and bought a crisp white cabinet on Overstock.  Ahhh Overstock...my new bestie!  I've always been a fan of Overstock, but now I'm smitten.  I find myself aimlessly browsing their furniture selection day after day but failing to commit to anything.  I just love it all!

The entrance wall in the living room directly off the mudroom was a bit perplexing for me.  The wall needed something, but was only about 11 inches deep.  I scoured Home Goods, Target, and every other store imaginable looking for a narrow white cabinet for this wall.  I finally came across a 9" deep cabinet on Overstock and took the plunge.  It came about a week later and I forced asked my sweet hubby to put it together that night.

The flower box I made here took its place on top of the cabinet.  Then it was my turn to add some pizazz to the inside. It felt soooo good to finally put a few things away.  I actually didn't buy anything new for this, so it cost $0 to accessorize.  Now that's a price I can live with and makes the slight splurge on the cabinet taste a bit better!  (I did at least find a 7% off coupon code for new Overstock members!)

Next up? I've got a few painting projects going on that I can't wait to unveil and a few good stories.  Stay tuned!

Be well,
